Land Use and Zoning Law
Mr. Fielding has a wealth of experience in zoning law. For five years, Mr. Fielding was the Executive Secretary of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of North Hempstead, where he reviewed and made recommendations to the Board with respect to over 1,000 appeals, including residential and commercial applications for variances, special use permits, and conditional use permits.
Real Estate Transactions
Mr. Fielding regularly represents clients in real estate transactions. He prepares contracts of sale for people who are selling their home. He also reviews proposed contracts of sale for people who are buying their home and revises these contracts appropriately to safeguard his clients’ interests. Mr. Fielding has experience with sales of land, existing houses, condominium properties, and cooperative apartments (“co-ops”).
Employment Law
Mr. Fielding has represented hundreds of employees and former employees in connection with disputes over their termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, overtime pay, wages and hours, restrictive covenants and unemployment benefits. Mr. Fielding has fought for clients to keep their jobs where possible and to receive the most compensation they can where they have been wrongfully terminated or illegally abused by their employer. Mr. Fielding has also represented employers with respect to disputes with current or former employees. Mr. Fielding’s employment law experience includes representing clients in New York State and Federal courts, including the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York, and New York State Supreme Court in New York City and Long Island. Mr. Fielding has also represented employment law clients in front of administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York Department of Labor, and the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.
